If you go on over to Sara's blog you'll find some yummy recipes linked up that might be fun to give a try during your holiday baking. I would have forgot about this being the day that this was going on if Sara hadn't reminded me! I was a little "wrapped up in wrapping" today! I blocked the day out to just get as much done as I could and in traditional routine, I watched holiday flicks while wrapping. Today, I watched both of the Hallmark "Mrs. Miracle" movies....I think I liked the first one better, but both were excellent. Fun stuff.
Okay, on to the cookie recipe. I picked one that was in a family cookbook collection on my mom's side - and that I have been making for a very long time. They are so easy, but oh-so-good.
Mounds Bars
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix and press into a 9x13 pan:
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 butter or margarine
2 cups crushed graham crackers
Bake 12 minutes.
Mix and pour over hot crust (spread very carefully, the crust will lift up otherwise):
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups coconut
Bake for 15 minutes. Watch it. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cover with a cookie sheet to allow chocolate chips to melt. Spread the chocolate over top.
Allow to cool and enjoy!

I think I drooled on my keyboard! These sound ....mmmmm mmmmm good!!!
I'm making a grocery list of items I need to pick up in this weeks shopping trip to make all the delicious cookies in the exchange! I'll probably gain 20 pounds but it's for a worthy cause.
;-)
I LOVE almond joy and mounds....these sound amazing!!! Can't wait to try them!!! Just wish my family liked coconut so I wouldn't have to eat the whole pan!!! oh well....lucky me!!
Darn that coconut phobia.....my friend Stephie is the same way. Between John being allergic to citrus (he gets cold sores) and Stephie (and Dennis) disliking coconut, my Coconut-Lime Cheesecake was way "off the table" for us to consider picking for the dessert dash at the auction!
And Susan (first of all, welcome!) - I hear you. On Sunday, I'll prepare about 7 different treats for trays for 7 different co-workers where my hubby works. Goodies everywhere, and, of course, I HAVE to do the quality control taste-testing.... =)
