"Baby, It's Cold Outside!"

For the last several days, our little ol' community hasn't surpassed freezing as a high temperature. Our morning lows are hovering around single digits and our little waterfall is frozen around the edges.

Fortunately, it's beautifully sunny - though, honestly, I wish we had some big ol' storm clouds with this frigid front so we'd end up with piles of snow. But, alas, it doesn't appear that will be the case.

In the meantime, I find myself re-thinking typical activities. For instance, yesterday I bought some ice cream, but hadn't yet cleaned out my freezer. Hmmm, what to do - oh, yeah, just set it outside on the patio table where it will stay chilled at a cool 21 degrees....

Chilling (even more!) cookie dough......set it outside.

And, let me tell you, my little van is being started a whole lot earlier than when it's actually time to take the kids to school.

I understand many of the plains states are facing blizzard conditions, so I ought not be so wound up my our own arctic blast. But, it is a bit of a change from our usual. Brrrrrrrrr!

I hear you!

We've had three days of snow and "highs" of 3 degrees.

Sounds like you are keeping busy with warm things though. :-)

oh I don't miss those days of starting the car a full 10 minutes before we were to leave OR actually plugging our car in to a heater in North Dakota just so it would start. My blood has certainly thinned this last 3 years!!! It was 32 degrees today and I thought I was going to freeze!!
