Very Much Happy

These were taken yesterday afternoon - on the way to Bend, just outside of Sisters. The first was taken using the HD App on John's cell phone which made it all the more spectacular. Oh how we love Central Oregon.

By about 5pm, after filling every last available real estate within our rig with groceries from Fred Meyer and Costco, we arrived here - our home away from home for the next seven days.

Sunriver, sigh.... Someday, if we were to ever win the lottery - and had surplus after all of the "socially appropriate" ways of disbursing the money, we would most certainly buy a home here. As I laid out on the deck this morning, catching the rays - after already having spent time reading in the hot tub and taking a family bike ride, it hit me that I might really rather vacation here than I would Hawaii. Yeah, I know, it's crazy, but I love the smell, the nature/outdoors feeling, the wildlife, the beauty, and especially, the climate. This week, it's supposed to be in the low 70's with humidity well under 25% - it might sound almost too cold, but the sun rays are so direct and brilliant....and hey, too hot and you wouldn't want to use the hot tub, right? Perfect for me.

So, here's a few pics I took last night while I was giddily perusing the property and the walking trails around us:

This is the surrounding deck. It's great, because it is completely enclosed so Sydney can be outside with us without concern of her catching the scent of a chipmunk and taking off!

The kids in the hot tub. When we arrived, the tub temperature was only 78 degrees and I was very disappointed. However, we found out after calling in to report the problem that it was so cold because they had just replaced the water before our arrival. Okay - I'll wait until the morning for hot water in lieu of it being cleaned out just for us. The temperature was in the low 90's when the kids hopped in - didn't bother them a bit.

And, on the way back to the house, I caught sight of this family of dear - a mommy doe and her two baby fawns - still with their spots. Bad picture on the second one, I had obviously spooked them - along with the other approaching bike riders, but they are SOOO cute!

And, finally, a shot of our happy family returning from the Sunriver Village Mall back to our little home on our family bike ride. I just kept taking deep breaths saying, "Oh, I'm so happy!"

7 days? Hmmmm.....I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Well, yes I would...lol! I can hardly wait until we can take a family vacation. With me not working, months still left before I actaully have a job, and Jon not actually getting his vacation time until Sept.....it seems like forever! But, I know when it does happen it's going to be awesome. I hope you guys have the very BEST vacation!!!:)

Hang in there Tiffany - it certainly looks like you are treating each day as a vacation in and of itself in how you are celebrating life with the boys.

No concern for running out of things to do - I just took Sydney on a walk - just me and her...I just kept thinking how GLORIOUS it was, how blessed I am, and how, when you are in the midst of such beauty how you can't help but lift up praise - which just makes the experience that much more awesome.
