Off to Meet Baxter!

Can you believe HOW CUTE this guy is! Insert a collective "Ahhhhhhh".......

He is a "Puggle" - half beagle, half pug. His name is "Baxter" - he's 8 weeks old, and way too precious. He's also the newest Schilling (my sis's family) Family Member.

He was supposed to wait to "appear" to the girls on Christmas Eve, but Michael and Michele decided to bring him out early so he can get acclimated to the family before the craziness of Christmas Day (with two dogs) and Sunriver (with two dogs). I like this idea as it means we get to hang out with not only the kids but a brand new puppy today.

I've been holding my breath that school would be closed. I get to take John's studded 4WD SUV up the freeway, and hang with them until tomorrow afternoon. The kids just opened the Countdown Calendar activity that said we'd do that (I had to re-write it in light of the closures....!), so Michele, you might just find us at your doorstep a whole lot earlier than you anticipated - cuz the kids are packing right now! How can we wait any longer to spend time with your new little man....?

(Based on this picture, you can see I've already met this guy- this was the situation I was referring to last Sunday. John and I took the girls back to their house so Michael and Michele could pick him out (with Traig and Brayden). They stopped by the house before delivering him to his "foster family" (Michael's brother, Tim) for the week so we could secretly meet him. Regarding my part in it all, let's just say I've learned some very good sales techniques from John and used them unashamedly......)

Syd will have to settle for a cousin!!! We get together often enough that he'll be around a lot.

It's started snowing again here in Dallas, Michele is dancing with the puppy to Faith Hill's "Where Are You Christmas?" and the kids are sledding in the empty lot kitty corner to them. It's really hard to feel like a moment couldn't be any more ideal (except we need our husband's with us....).

I so missed something if you are in Dallas!

That puppy is sooooooooo sweet! I would have to just stick him right in my purse on the way out!!!

Dallas is a small town west of our state capital here in Oregon - about an hour and 20 minutes from where we live..... =)

Ohh - that puppy is so adorable! My daughter keeps asking me for a small dog, either that our a baby sister. Unfortunately for her she isn't getting either...

Although after seeing that picute I would reconsider getting another dog if it wasn't against the law in our county. :-)
