Oh, The Weather Inside Is Frightful

If you've ever been around Lisa and I together, you'd quickly find that while we may be very like-minded, we are definitely not like heat-minded. Lisa can wear shorts and t-shirts comfortably year round, while I very much enjoy my turtlenecks, sweaters, and down vests from October through April. This is not to say I don't like the cold, I do get a kick out of plummeting temperatures as long as I have plenty of layers of clothes, cozy blankets, and a warm home to hang out in.

So, here we sit - with: plenty of layers of clothes - check, cozy blankets - check - and a warm home - NOPE! For the second time in a year our furnace is not working leaving the temperature in our house at a balmy 58 degrees! We have now definitely opted to open the damper in our fireplace and will probably consume all of our remaining wood supply until this problem gets fixed. All of a sudden, Sydney is invited to sleep on the bed with us as she is now another source of warmth.....

Amazing how we take modern conveniences for granted.....

And, on that note, news regarding my computer. Apparently, it got sent off for repair without our authorization. This is actually good news, because it means we don't have to pay for the repairs if it's not satisfactory - as well as the fact that the service dept. were seeking to have it done through warranty. John's computer is wonderful, and I don't want to sound spoiled, but I can't wait to get back to all of my pictures and stored materials on the harddrive, and know that they are all safe and sound.
