A Couple of Questions LXX

"Lost" is currently being paused while John is gabbing with Travis. Additionally, Dennis and kids just arrived to drop off the utility trailer for us to start loading up for the trip. So, while the "boys" tend to their chores, I'll offer up a few questions......

1. What are your Memorial Day weekend plans?

2. As the sun has come out and golden tans are being sought out, do you have any stories of the worst sunburn experience you've ever had? If you never have never had a sunburn - congratualtions and feel free to share any story you want.......

1. Memorial Day plans already detailed - 18 people, 10 kids, 8 adults - lots and lots of great food, sunny forecast, bike trails, needless to say, I am VERY excited.

2. I have had a few sunburns that weren't so good for me - fortunately, this red hair of mine does not mean I have a fair complexion. Both of my parents have American Indian descent, so that means I have it too and therefore, it takes a lot to burn.

However, because I can be a dumb-dumb, I remember getting burned quite badly while at our best friends' house, sitting in a black intertube in the middle of their pool one day. Real smart. The other, truly ingenious act occurred the 2nd day I was in Kenya. We went to a person's house who had a pool and I was suntan-greedy, and dismissed the power of the sun's rays when you are literally located on the equator. Dumb-dumb. I remember that hurting very bad......

1. A family from the valley coming to stay with us Friday-Sunday. Then relax and go biking on Monday. Hopefully a bbq in there somewhere.

2. Oh gosh, where to start. I was convinced in high school that I was making up my inability to do anything but burn so I continued to push my luck, mainly because I had friends that tanned so easily, so I felt like an outcast using sunscreen. I learned my lesson probably around 19 and slathered on 30-45 constantly and never tanned. I learned in the last few years that with 15 I will get a nice tan and no burn. (Although I did get burned sitting in my stinking backyard reading a few weeks ago...for like 10 minutes...so clearly I must adjust to new sun rules in the desert!)

1. Tyler and Rachel have a soccer tourney on Sat. And I have to work on Monday! What a bummer.

2. I think my worst was when we went to an all-day airshow in Redmond when I was a teenager, and midway through the afternoon my legs were already hurting, so I knew I was in a bad way...other than that I usually spent my summers burning and peeling my shoulders. As a teen I would lay out all day trying to get tanned but my "tan" was more like a mass of freckles. If I lived in Central Oregon or anywhere warmer I'd be a prime cancer candidate.

1. Caleb's 2nd Birthday on Saturday - BBQ with family and a few friends. Also I'm counting on my friend to have her baby on that day:-).

2. I tan easily, however when I was about 10 I had a sunburn so badly I could barely move. I think I had a mild heat stroke as well. It's called all day playing in the water without reapplying sunscreen.

have fun!

1. Much needed R&R and reconnecting as a little family, making Summer plans/calendar, finally getting it together to landscape, holding our breath on the quote we will probably get....
Have fun this weekend!
2. I got a really bad sunburn on my chest while on a cruise my Sr. year. No I wasn't sunbathing topless....haha It was more ugly than painful for the longest time.

1. For the weekend we are hanging around the house and relaxing with little on our plate. Yea!

2. The worst sunburn I had, or I should say most inconvenient was a sunburn I got on our honeymoon. We went to the beach, and about half way through the week I wanted to layout on the back deck and touch up my tan with vegetable oil as my tanning lotion. Ugh! I should post the picture Jeff took of me post tan.
