1. Our first, hopefully annual, trip to Leavenworth for the beginning of their Christmas Season. And even though it was about 25* there, we all had a great time!2. Pete put up the Christmas trees in the girls' rooms so when they came home from dance to change into pj's, they were pleasantly surprised.3. Anything done together as a family
1. Two nights ago while Rachel was in the shower, 3 year old Isabel got out pajamas for her and put them in the bathroom...Tyler was in trouble the day he and Rachel got to see "Flushed Away" so he didn't get any money to buy a snack, but Rachel offered to share hers with him...2. Watching my kids as we drove around the Pepsi dist. center's light display in Corvallis (we went through 3 times!)3. Gazing at the lights on our crooked tree with all the ornaments on the bottom half that keep falling off...4. Those moments when God's character really sinks in and I realize the enormity of his gift to us, that baby Jesus.5. Cards and pictures from far-flung friends.
1. Listening to Traig invent a song the other day thanking God for our family and especially for Jesus dying on the cross for us2. Seeing evidence of Nati taking care of Ellie by helping her fill out her Santa letter/wishilist3. Ellie's comment after we finished decorating our home (remodelled garage and trailer) "Our home is SO BEAUTIFUL - I can't wait for Aunt Stephie to come see it"4. Having the class clown in yesterday's math class where I subbed ask me if I could be his permanent teacher because he better understood the algebra lesson (that hasn't happened much recently - it reaffirmed a bit my faith in subbing...)5. Watching Daddy and the kids wrestle6. Last weeks' snow days... oh how I love snow...7. Getting lost in Portland with my mom - random adventures with her are always fun... 8. Incredible fellowship with incredible friends last weekend9. Cuddling with Michael while watching our Beavers win another game...10. Dairy Queen's chocolate chip peppermint blizzard - I need not say more... :)Sorry that was more the "top ten" than a couple... I got a bit carried away... (and I didn't even mention the relief in knowing that our Christmas tree is still drinking water... :) And Heather - our family loves the Pepsi display - we'll probably hit that in another week or so. Have you ever seen the private residence display on the west side of Peoria Road? Not nearly as impressive - but still fun for the kids... :)
Michele,Coincidentally, my boss mentioned the Peoria Road display yesterday - I haven't driven that road for years. I'm planning to get down there soon!I lost my address book a few months ago so I'll either get your address if you send me a greeting, or send yours in care of Steph. I ordered the photo greetings so I have no excuse for not getting them out this year!
Heather- The Peoria display is on the east side of the road and not the west side of the road. Oops. I wouldn't think it's more than a 5 or 10 minute drive from 34.I'll be sending your card out today or tomorrow so you'll get my address then. I'll look forward to getting your beautiful family picture! :)
1. Waking up in the middle of the night to my husband cuddling me on one side, and my dog cuddling me on the other. It is so precious to see Bogey sleeping under the covers with his little head on a pillow, just like he is part of the family!2. Sunriver is coming, Sunriver is coming, Sunriver is coming......3. Not Santa Claus on the Polar Express last weekend; that's for sure! :o)
