If you are anything like me, there are certain things that need replacing in your home, but you just can't bring yourself to spend the money to replace it, or update it. Based on that idea, if money weren't an issue.....
1. What household items would be replaced in your home?
2. What personal items would you replace?

1. New towels!! Just can't make myself spend the money on those and yet they need to be replaced so bad......
2. Coordinating underwear and bras that actually fit right. Very difficult for me to spend the money on stuff that nobody else sees (except John).....
1. Aaron and I just discussed this last night, of course in a rental there are many itmes, but in my "Dream Home" I want all energy efficient appliances, a QUIET dishwasher, front loading washer and dryer that are the BIG ones, that do like 24 towels so you do a lot less laundry.
2. I'm with you on the underwear and bras thing. I also think I could use a whole new wardrobe!
1. I desperately need new kitchen appliances. I can live with my fridge and my dishwasher, and even my 1970's wood grain microwave, in which you have to know the secret White Microwave Code in order to get it to even turn on. I applaud my sister and brother-in-law for figuring it out on their own! But I need, in a bad way, a new stove. My sister and brother-in-law were over last weekend and my sister was making something in our stove and using the burners and she told Travis that I really did need a new stove, that I wasn't just wanting a new one because ours is ugly. Go Mandy!!! But, what it all comes down to is: 1) Use the money for new appliances, or furnish our front room, which has been empty since we moved into the house in June of 2005. 2) Use the money for new appliances, or to furnish the den, which is going to be turned into a video game room. It only has the two video game chairs that my parents got for Travis for Christmas and a TV that is sitting on a bin. 3) Use the money for new appliances, or finally put quarter round down so the hard wood floors actually look completed. And then there is the whole issue of the money. You have to have the money in the first place to purchase something........ There lies my problem.
2. I am going to have to go with Literary Girl and Stephieanne. It is so hard to purchase things like undergarments for myself. Jodi, I also could use a whole new wardrobe. I just have a hard time spending money on myself, period. Thanks to the generous Christmas gift from Stephie, I can go splurge at a local book store, and I am really looking forward to that!
1. I need beds for the kids - they all have mattresses, but only Rachel has a "real" bed. Tyler and Isabel have mattresses on the floor, and I have the Hollywood frame. As much as they jump on them and mistreat them, though...it's hard to spend money on something that's not technically necessary for getting through daily life. My refrigerator is too small and the plastic parts (like door compartments, shelf above crispers) have broken out. But I adapted and turned the crisper drawers into school lunch/snack bins and they've worked out great. Sometimes I actually think it's fun being poor because I get to be extra creative and innovative!
2. Yeah, I'm with you guys...bras that fit and underwear with some amount of elastic left would be nice. The other day I thought how happy I should be that I'm not dating because I have nothing to wear - just the thought of dressing to look attractive made me break out in hives! I like kids: they say my outfit looks nice when I'm half changed and wearing a blouse with my pajama bottoms.
Is a husband a household or a persnal item? haha, I am so kidding!
1. If money was no object I'd build a new house. Because the more that I live here the more I go "huh? now why did they/didn't they do that?"
2. personal item: tummy tuck, does that count? again, money no object. Maybe new Heavenly Bed sheets.
1. New love seat and chair for my living room / bedroom furniture for my room - actually my room and bathroom remodeled professionally / great art for my house / oh the list goes on. I need to stop otherwise I will start to covet these things:-).
2. I want to say a new wardrobe but I am flexing with sizes so much that I must wait (even in my dreams). I think a nice vacation - is that a personal item? hope so:-)
