Happy Halloween!
Another fun year of trick-or-treating, chili-eating, and catching up with old friends. In attendance this year were the Meyers, the Quigleys, the Johnsons, Mom and Dad, and Leona. John did an outstanding job with capturing the kids in their costumes, but I'm a bit bummed I didn't request him taking some shots of us adults, as I think for many of us as "grown-ups", we equally look forward to this time to get together and see each other and chit chat amidst door-bell ringing and over-indulging in the food whose calories don't count because it's a holiday! (I'm beginning to re-think that theory though, as it's because of my stomach that I'm awake at this stupid hour....)
The girls were as beautiful as usual sporting cowgirl and angel looks....
Ummmm, I don't know what to say about this, folks. As I confessed on Facebook, he's a 7th grader, and some battles you just choose not to fight. No, he did not go to school dressed up like this - and no, I don't think he's in any hurry to wear mascara again.
Apparently, Andrew's nickname at school is "Pepsi" - way to go Amy in putting this together!
Adam, aka "The Comedian"
Okay, another confession - I went way to "Toddlers and Tiaras High Glitz" on Mikayla's make-up. She had no time to prepare as she'd just had to cut away from a birthday party early to get ready for our group. She was hurrying me and didn't want to wait for me to "soften it up". The effect you see here is proof why she won't be allowed to wear make-up until well after high school.....
Round Two of the Chili Feast Spread....look familiar? (Yes, it is a new batch of chili!)
And, off we go trick or treating...
This enchanting thing rose from the ground as we approached the door - really glad we were there before it got dark!
A final shot of Mom and Dad I asked John to take when I saw them standing there like that.
It was another great year of memories and fun - thanks to everyone who came who made it so special!

everyone looked GREAT!!
We had chili too and set up our fire pit in the drive way. We served s'mores to the kids and families as they came by! I was sad that I missed most of it this year b/c my bible study is on Monday nights....and I guess they weren't going to cancel bible study for Halloween..go figure! ha!
I love that you do s'mores in the driveway! What were the temps like there? The rain stayed away but it got pretty cold as the sun went down - 40's....
our temps are beautiful!!! low 70s in the day and around 50 at night!!! perfect for a fire pit! :)
Kudos for letting him dress up the way he wanted!
One of my girlfriends let her little guy (I think he is 10ish) dress up as a cheerleader (his sister's uniform) and they ran into a lady from their church. The lady remarked to HIM in front of my friend how inappropriate his outfit was and that he should have been a fireman or something like that.
The day when we start to read too much into every innocent action of a child is a day we are all in trouble. Boys are commonly curious about playing with girls toys and even playing dress up when they are little. There is nothing wrong with that, nor does it necessarily mean anything.
