I feel so loved by my blog-friends (who qualify as friends minus the "blog" title, but that sounded cuter)! Thank you for the wise wisdom and words of support. I spoke to someone today who is struggling in concern for her child (nothing life-threatening or rebellion), but it really helped put things in perspective. Problems will come and we'll have to deal once they arrive, and I think for at least the folks that respond to this blog, we all know our own children better than anyone else to make the best decisions for them. Regarding future goals for my daily activities, I am confident if it is beyond what I am currently doing, God will make that abundantly clear. Now, I just need to work on my attitude!
1. What does the first half hour after you wake up generally look like/include (I'm referring to weekdays)?
2. What new item from the holidays has gotten the most use in your family?

1. Upon waking up, I'm trying to train myself to go straight to the kitchen (letting Syd out on the way) to start water in the pot and heat water in the microwave while I return to the bathroom and get something semi-decent on. I then make my oatmeal and Russian Tea, turn on my glo-lamp, and read my Daily Bible, my computer, and then newspaper. Generally, before I'm down it will be time to wake up Brayden and flip on "Curious George". Man, that time goes by way too fast.....
2. I suppose the Wii, or perhaps the Smart Wool socks that John and I now wear exclusively (after trying them, you won't go back.....)
1. I suck....it consists of coffee, then email with a very heavy conviction of Bible reading, then I get on the phone with my sister. My morning routine really needs alot of tuning and giving up the pleasure for things that in the long run will give me more joy. ie: Bible reading, healthier breakfast, spending time with my kids and ficusing on them and their morning needs.
2. Our Wii too and new computers. Oh and Espen's new baby Tad, a leapfrog doll that sings, claps, says abc's and everything else that Mom should/could do instead.
Wow, Steph, I am seeing a guilt thing on my end too!
I forgot the phone call with Michele - that almost always happens right around 7, just as I'm supposed to be getting Brayden up. (She's on her way to sub). Sometimes I "just go through the motions with the kids" so I can talk to her - no wonder the mornings aren't always so smooth around here....
OH, and BTW - the Bible Reading begun again in earnest in January after having slacked off in October or so....
1. My first half hour should be spent showering but sadly I tend to value sleep over cleanliness. So, I usually get up, feed and let out the dog, get dressed, then start getting the kids up.
2. The new games: Sequence for Kids, Mexican Train Dominoes, Dora Candyland. I balk at a lot of grown-up games that make me think or strategize. Kid games are perfect and over in 15 minutes!
Glad you're feeling better, Steph. I've been thinking a lot about your post and the comments.
1. I nurse Tana and wish I could sleep a little more. Then I make cereal for Tana and make sure Caleb has had enough to eat (he eats with Randy usually). Sometimes I lay on the couch and try to get a few more minutes of sleep before I have to start the day.
2. So funny - Caleb loves his little chineese yoyo. A $2.00 stocking item.
1. The first half hour of my weekdays is always the same; I drag myself out of bed and rush to get ready for work and then rush out the door to get to work on time. The only day that is a little different is Wednesday when I take Bogey to the Riley's to have a play day with Sydney.
2. Although we did not get our Wii on Christmas, we did get it last weekend and have been playing with it ever since. So, I am going to have to go with that answer.
