I love my kids so much, but today is one of those days where I'm counting down the hours until school begins again. I'm glad I'm not doing Hollie's no-complaining challenge, I've been doing a lot of that today. I think I'm in a mood to be selfish, and God is trying to answer those "not-thinking" prayers I've prayed in the past about helping me with my selfishness. I'm getting practice today.
Okay, on to some questions......
1. What are some sure-fire presents that people could give you that would make you happy no matter when you received them? They could be gift-certificates or whatever......
2. What is something that is currently lost in your home that you are sure a gremlin must have stolen, because you can't honestly figure out where it might be?

1. Gift certificates: Bello Spa and Salon, Gooseberry Patch, Ruthie B's, Target.... (I could go on and on)
or - anything get-away or entertainment related
Yankee candles - I've kind of got a seasonal thing going so these are the scents I've adopted-
Island Spa (you've got too smell this one....ah) - scent for spring and summer
Mom's Apple Pie - late summer
Harvest - autum
Home for the Holidays - winter
2. This is a timely question because just yesterday Mikayla found a remote control that's been missing for months. We suspected that a small child that was visiting (no one connected to this blog) was the culprit. Sure enough, Mikayla found it in a bag she had buried in her toy bin. No wonder we didn't find it. An item that is currently still lost - the original "Parent Trap" DVD that Mikayla got in her stocking. No clue.....
1. I am so not a gifts person. It is a stretch to give gifts and receiving them really doesn't do anything for me except feel compelled like I have to reciprocate. But anything from my kids makes me happy. I guess that may be a hands down for any Mom, so coming home to a clean house would be a very special gift.
2. My Dad has said on a couple of occasions while visiting," I have never seen a family spend so much time looking for stuff". That is so us! We are constantly picking up something, setting it down in a "safe" spot, then looking for it. But I guess a big thing that I thnk I may have thrown away is a $50 rebate check from Harry and David from when they overcharged me, so it isn't even free money; it is my money!
Fun questions, Steph!
1. A coffee date - spend time with me and treat me to coffee and a scone - perfection!
2. My gift certificate to a day spa. Oh so sad!
1. Tyler Candles, nearly any scent will do. Flowers, cheap bundles are always good, don't need to be super expensive. Chocolate. Necklaces. Should I go on?
2. I don't think anything is currently lost, but I am still mystified as to what happened to my old camera. It got lost somewhere around the move between our last house and the house before. Although we have moved TWICE since then, I still have this hope it will turn up. I even look for it sometimes in places where I think I possibly haven't looked. Deep down know it is gone, and I still wonder if it was stolen, but I've never lost something like that so it still bugs me.
1. Candles, Starbucks gift card, books/bookstore gift cards. Flowers and drawings from my kids.
2. Hmm...if something is lost that means I can't see it, hence I have completely forgotten that it is even lost! And when it comes to socks, let's just say I try to buy lots and lots of all the same brand so I can "draw from the pile" instead of trying to make them partner up!
Michele, if you are reading this - I'm wondering where your comment is.....
Well, a missing hamster...now that is one thing you need to find within a week or so.
Steph, I am so thankful for this blog. It keeps me connected to a group of Christian women and reminds me that life is good when I need it most.
I found my $50 check.....it was dated November 2006. Thanks for reminding me to look for it, Steph!
