I'm pleased to report that the week has gotten MUCH better- Michele and I have kind of smoothed into an efficient pattern of herding all 5 kids- driving to camps and backs, hauling them to the pool, trays of semi-nutritious food for dinner, sending them out to the trampoline/sand to play, and corraling them into showers, toothbrushing and bedtime. Today, we're going to mix it up a bit and take them to see "Meet the Robinsons" at the $1 Theater. We'll be out on the boat tonite, so we thought we could all afford a little "down time". I honestly don't know where the kids get all of the energy to play as hard as they do, but on the other hand, this morning I definitely see it taking its toll from some cranky-risers......
If you could "magically transport" to anywhere in the world.......(be specific)
1. Where would you go to experience "happiness" (could be with other people)?
2. Where would you go to have a time of solitude/reflection?
Have a great rest of the week!
1. Frontierland in Disneyland, with my family
ReplyDelete2. Given all of the amazing places I've been, I think I'd still have to say the Anderson's hot tub in Sunriver.......
1. Some remote island full of men who think curvy girls are hot, hot, hot. (OK, well, barring that, a vacation spot with my kids with a private pool so Mom can frolic un-selfconsciously!)
ReplyDelete2. A tiny beach house in Oceanside, OR. Something about being near the ocean makes me itch to write in a journal and have long conversations with God.
1. Happiness (with lots of laughter): Disney World, hands down, but specifically in those hundred acres of magic: Animal Kingdom Lodge.
ReplyDelete2. Solitude: anywhere near water, and more specifically the waters of the Mediteranean
1. Happiness: On a Ski Boat with friends and/or family.
ReplyDelete2. Reflection: Near Water - The Ocean, a Lake, a River.
I really want to say Hawaii for one of them just because I want to go there again soon. Or really anywhere tropical but the above thoughts came first and are more accurate:-)
1. Walking with my family under the sign at Disneyland that says "Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy" while we chant "We're goin' in! We're goin' in!"
ReplyDelete2. Sitting on the couch at the beach and staring at the surf.
1. I'd grab a few friends and head to the beach, rend a cabin on the ocean, eat eat eat, drink wine, play games, watch chick flicks, etc
ReplyDelete2. Well it would definitely be alone, and I have my eye on a few places I want to go in the future...there is a retreat center in OR with yoga, all vegetarian food, small cabins, totally in the middle of nowhere. I'm dreaming of visiting and so I guess I would pick there.
