He's a Junior, She's an 8th Grader

I've been telling myself that this will probably be the last "relatively easy" year we'll have when it comes to school.  Next year, Brayden will be a senior at one high school and Mikayla will be a freshman at another school (the reasons we chose Marist - a private school, for Brayden, don't really apply to Mikayla).  That is not something I look forward to, so we better make the most of what we have right now.

It was on Wednesday, September 9th and Thursday, September 10th the kids began school again.

Brayden's initial "first day" pose was typical Brayden...

And, then it wasn't enough to just pose by the flag.  He had to take it out of its holder and wave it around.  Thanks son, but all I needed was a quick smile.

As is often the case, Mikayla was a bit quicker in following directions.

It's just unbelievable how fast the years fly by.  Here's hoping for Brayden that he will find his rhythm in terms of academics and homework, and feel the taste of success of achieving the grades we all know he's capable of.  And, for Mikayla, we'll be praying she has teachers that are fair and her friendship group continues to support one another as their interests and pursuits become more and more diversified.
