So, I spent my morning watching this movie with headphones on my computer. I have been intrigued by this movie since I first heard about it- I figured it would be big. Will Smith has an uncanny ability to pick movies that will gross large amounts of money.
Since I am a sci-fi person, the premise of the movie was a huge draw. I was, however, concerned about the scary aspect - and knew no one that would want to go see it in the theater with me - so here I am, watching it, IN THE LIGHT OF DAY - by myself. Ironically, I was nudged by Lisa who watched it this last weekend and recommended it.
I will recommend it as well. If nothing else, it is very fascinating - and has you thinking a lot about what it would be like to be all alone - what it would be like if all of a sudden the earth weren't populated - as well as the chaos that would ensue if some sort of biological catastrophe were to actually occur. I never jumped while watching it, but found myself with a sad and scrunched up forehead throughout a lot of it. Addressing the God factor was a surprise for me - while a small part of the movie, the message was profound.
I would NOT recommend this as a family film. Please don't pop some popcorn and plan to have a family movie night with this flick. But, if you are an adult - I think it is worth viewing - if you are into this sort of genre......
I liked it too. Not as scary as I was led on to believe. My scary film that I compare everything to: Blair Witch Project....
