I'm a fan of the Nickelodeon "Wonder Pets" program - it's cute, catchy, and offers some good messages. However, a little pet peeve. Today they rescued an owl, in guess where, the forests of Oregon. But, what do you know, they pronounced Oregon as "Oregone" - and used fireflies to light their way. Have you ever seen fireflies here in Oregone, er I mean Orygun......? Didn't think so - somebody needs to go back to school in their writing department......
If it looks like I have too much time on my hands to whine about such trivial things.....really I'm not bothered, I thought it was just funny. And, it's not a matter of time, it's a matter of procrastination. I need to pack and clean house and I'm moving VERY slow.......
ReplyDeleteWhere are you going?
ReplyDeleteAnd fireflies are actually indigenous to a particular area? Now that I think about it I don't remember seeing them in Oregyn, but we did have them in BANGER,Maine so I guess I just figured they were all over...not the case?
I understand the pet peeve of Oregone....Banger is how people pronounce Bangor....how is that difficult at all to just pronounce how it is spelled.
Oh and Oregyn is one thing I learned before I met Pete face to face.
Nope, no fireflies in Oregon - I think they are a "east of the Mississippi" sort of thing, but then again, I haven't done research either - other than knowing they aren't here, which is a bit of a bummer because I think they are very cool.....
