A Couple of Questions XX

We just said good-bye to a very dear babysitter that has watched our Couples' Bible Study group of 10 kids on numerous occassions. Her name is Mary, and she first babysat for us nine months ago, sight unseen, when we had a scheduled spa day. She was a godsend on that day and has been ever since - She just completed her Masters in Education and is headed to teach kindergarten in inner-city Phoenix. First year teacher, English as a second language, inner city - whew, I don't envy her a bit...... but, if anyone is capable it's Mary - she will be extrememly successful and start those kids off in such an amazing way. We will miss her very much.......

So, in honor of her, here are this week's questions:

1. Did you have a favorite babysitter and if so, what made that person special - or what was the best memory?

2. I'm assuming most of the people that read this are women and have probably babysat on a few occassions in their lifetime - how about the most difficult job you ever took on.....

  1. 1. We had grandparents that absolutely wanted any spare moment my parents would give them to be with us, therefore, we were denied many babysitter memories - However, on one occassion, I remember making chocolate chip cookies with a gal named Candice - we thought she was very cool.

    2. I also didn't do a lot of babysitting - occassionally, but I never took off with it. One time, I was told to make hamburgers from a "log" of frozen beef from the freezer. It was impossible to defrost, without defrosting the whole thing - which was not the father's intention which he very much let me know. Not a fun situation. (In hindsight, I should have just made PB&J's)

  2. First of all, Mary is beautiful! And I am guessing by your excitement about her that she is just as beautiful on the inside.
    1. My babysitters were average, nothing really stands out, although, I do remember them. One gal that stayed with us for a week while my parents went away let me stay home from school one day just because I felt like it, but that isn't too out of the ordinary since I let my daughter do that now!
    2. I did not do much babysitting at all. Matter of fact the reason that I did do it wasn't for the money but because I felt bad saying no. I do have to say though, that staying up until the 'rents came home was tough for me. I think a few times I got caught asleep on the couch.
