John was in New Jersey - across the river, when the towers fell. He watched the 2nd one go down. Michele called me that morning to make sure his flight itinerary did not include the hi-jacked flights, I had no idea and can't begin to tell you the relief I felt to finally connect to him and hear his voice. He had no idea any of it was going on as he'd made it a practice to not watch tv while traveling..... he walked across the hall to the concierge lounge and watched stunned as the towers went down.

As it turns out, the terrorist who was on the flight that went down stayed in that hotel, and John remembers seeing him on the elevator the night before (the guy looked creepy).

It took us until Saturday to re-unite in Boise - after trying the airlines, trains, etc- he finally decided to rent a car and drive across country. I met him with Brayden in tow, pregnant with Mikayla - we spent the night in Boise then drove home together.
